Fall-ing Outfits

Hey everyone!

It's been a while and I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks. Since I've started my new job, I've been pretty tired by the end of the day and haven't been keeping up with posting!

It's definitely been getting colder here in Oregon, so I've been bundling up and giving my boots some outdoor time!

My bf came to visit me a few weekends ago and we went to one of my client's grand opening for a paint your own pottery shop. We had dinner before and then painted a piggy bank! I can't wait to see it and I'll post some pictures when I go pick it up! I felt like dressing up a bit for dinner :)

Animal-print night out
Portland has an art event where participating galleries downtown bring out new artists' work and promote it during "First Thursday". It comes around every first Thursday of the month, and I attended (at least tried to) this month. It was fun, but a bit cold. Went around to a few shops with a friend, and this is what I wore.

Love my Armani Exchange Asymmetrical Jacket!

I attended my cousin's wedding over the weekend; unfortunately, it was raining. What a hectic weekend! But it's done and over with and the happy couple can start their lives together!
Here are some photos from their wedding... there was the morning ceremony and the dinner reception in the evening. I decided to wear two dresses. :P

Isn't the bride GORGEOUS!? :)
Wedding piggies!
The boyfriend and I at the dinner reception.
My sister and I - we didn't plan on matching!
Maybe I've been working out too much - giant arms! :P
Cheeeese!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Three Dots

Came across a site that has great quality items. They don't have petite sizes, but they do have XS and they run small!

Just wanted to share with everyone! :)

Three Dots

This blazer looks like its very form fitting and flattering! I like the longer look; seems like it would be extra warm, especially with the material. It moves with you.

Vince Camuto Peep Toe Bootie!

Hi there!

I ordered these babies over the weekend at Amazon's Warehouse sale. And such a great find! Also with free 2 day shipping with an Amazon Prime account (FREE promotional 1 year student account)!

Vince Camuto Peep Toe Bootie Taupe, 5.5
I bought the Taupe colored ones, and they were only $18.99!! (Retails for $139) - Really can't beat this price ^__________^

It's made of very soft suede with a 3 and 3/4 heel, and peep toe design. I didn't realize that the shaft was extendable! Makes me love them even more! When the shaft is up, it rises to mid-calf, perfect for petites with shorter legs. Ahhh, I love how versatile these new booties are!

Dark Slate Suede

You can wear them multiple ways, dress it up or dress it down :) I bought these in a 5.5 and they fit very comfortably, may run a teeny bit bigger than true size. I really like the color of the dark slate suede color, but... I need lighter shoes to add to my "collection". :P

Overall, I'm really loving this new bootie and can't wait to pair it with an outfit!

I'll be posting outfits with these shoes soon! Stay tuned! Hope everyone is having a great week so far :)

Fossil Maddox Boots

It was love at first sight - Fossil Maddox Boots! When I saw these, I knew I wanted them right away!

And surprisingly, they fit perfect!

Fossil Maddox Boots

The shaft on these boots is a bit wider than most I've owned, and this is GREAT! My calves are pretty big because I workout so often, so these fit perfect! There's still a bit of room, so I can wear a pair of skinny jeans with them. I'm normally a size 6, and these are true to size. (Although I didn't try on a size 5.5, they may fit better... but I'm happy with the fit of the 6 -- preparing for thicker socks too!)

The leather is so soft, and looks great! I always wear black, and I'm so happy to add this to my wardrobe! I can't wait for fall and winter so that I can wear these babies out! These also come in brown, but after doing some research, it's sold out everywhere!

There is accent stitching, and buckle details. They're SO COMFORTABLE! A 2" wedge is perfect if I need to wear them all day -- great arch support.

One complaint is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of traction, but that's easily fixed with some stick-ons. Winters in Oregon can be very nasty and unpredictable!

Overall, a great find! These will be my "dress-up" boots, since my Keen boots are a bit more casual. I'll try and remember to post a picture once I wear them up and pair them with an outfit!

What do you guys think? Have you already been thinking about fall items (i.e. boots, coats, etc.)? What are some MUST HAVE items on your list?

Ink!

I've always been fascinated with tattoos, the history of tattoos, and the meaning behind them. My senior thesis in college was about tattoos (read it here).

I had a fun time creating these temporary tattoos. They were free-handed onto my friends. This is one of my favorites that I drew on my friend Helen:

If I were to get a tattoo, it would be of a koi. Ideally, it would be a back piece. These are a few that I drew on myself.

The koi is a Japanese symbol that represents good fortune and luck.
There is another word to describe "love" which is "koi".

I went out today and had a friend airbrush a tattoo on my foot. It's not something I'd get permanently, but I thought it was something fun.

Have any of you considered getting a tattoo? What would it be of, and where would you get it?

Summer Trimmings

I've gone through a few different haircuts the last couple of years.
I had medium length hair, a little bit past my shoulders.

Two summers ago, I built up the courage to chop off all my hair! I decided to be a bit edgy and went for the A-line cut, and donated my hair to Locks of Love. I also put in some red highlights. It was an interesting summer for me because I also received 5 extra ear piercings (on top of the two I got when I was a baby)! I took 3 of them out and only have 4 now (still a lot for being brought up very conservative!)

I had a lot of fun styling my hair as it was growing back, but I did go through an "awkward" stage. All you girls that ever had this cut would know! I really felt different having this haircut, and even treated differently. Outer appearance can communicate so much, its amazing!

Finally, my hair has grown back - but I've been thinking of getting it short again!
I love black! :)
I've had the side bangs for a while now, and really needed a trim. So here's what it looks like now :) I've also changed my looks to look my age. I need to be career ready!

Had my hair straightened at the salon too! I love how soft it feels! :)
I know they're completely different looks, but I think I look much more professional with the long hair. My profession isn't too picky about what I look like, as long as I perform well as a graphic designer. The long hair is great, and isn't high maintenance like shorter hair. (The highlights all grew out too, so back to natural black!)

What do you guys think of the short hair vs longer hair? What are some of your favorite styles, and have you ever tried anything crazy with drastically different hair styles?

Outfit for the day: Dark Chocolate

Mmmmmm... chocolate... :)

This will be the start of my outfit blogging. I've learned a lot from reading other blogs by petites, and thought that it would be fun to try and keep one myself! There are so many different looks and outfits that I like, so this would be a great place to document everything. Hope you guys enjoy it!

-------

I usually don't feel like putting on outfits when I'm at home. But since my grandma and aunt were in town, I decided I should look a little nicer than a bum. :P

It's a bit colder here on the coast, and the dark colors really contrasted with each other. I really like this look - feels more ladylike! Hehe.

(Sorry for not having any shoes on! I paired this outfit with a pair of brown wedges.)
And here's one with my brother's boston terrier female puppy, Luna. She's adorable!
