I had the sweetest little weekend... :) It wasn't long enough...
Friday:
Left work early (around 3:45) and headed home. It was a gorgeous day, but a little too hot for me. It reached 95 degrees or so. There was lots of traffic so I took a detour and took the inner roads home. It actually saved me time and I'll definitely consider revising my route home.
I got home and felt the need to change. So I called Vone and she headed my way to take me to the airport. Everything went smoothly. I actually arrived too early and was considering changing my flight to the one right before. But that flight was full, so I waited another hour for my flight to board. I was very excited and anxious at the same time. It felt like I was returning home though, not sure how to explain it. But there was something familiar about going to San Francisco.
The flight didn't last very long, and before I knew it, we had already arrived. My heart raced as I grabbed my carry-on bag and continued to unload off the plane. I was beaming, with a wide grin on my face. I didn't feel the need to impress, but definitely wanted to make a good impression. I picked up my phone and texted him. He was waiting for me.
The nearest escalator to the baggage claim was closed, so I proceeded to find another way to the lower level. I tapped my foot anxiously as I got onto the steps of the escalator, biting my lip excitedly. I could feel eyes staring at me, but my blurred vision was making me even more excited. I reached the bottom of the escalator and spotted him right away. It felt so perfect. As I got nearer, the excited smile on my face turned into a smile of happiness, and I gave him a big hug. It felt so natural, so... right. We both smiled at each other, not needing to say anything for that moment. Our eyes said everything.
He took my bag and we walked towards the parking garage, exchanging glances and smiles. It was real cute. My heart felt warm. Any signs of anxiety disappeared, and I felt safe, at home
We left the airport and I was given the job of reading the map to the hotel. I don't think I helped much. We arrived and checked in. Then we went to explore the room. After settling in, we decided to take a dip in the hot tub. It was very relaxing and soothing.
Back to the room, we freshened up and then got comfortable in bed and watched a movie. I wanted to spend every moment with him, and cherish it. I asked him to stay the night. It was an awesome night. I was very excited for the next day, I didn't want to sleep and felt like I should spend as much time as possible with him, since the weekend was so short. I could hardly sleep.
Saturday:
We woke up early. Freshened up and headed to Ihops for breakfast. Sausage, hashbrowns, and over-easy eggs + strawberry french toast. Went to the store to grab a few things, and then headed back to the hotel. Relaxed for a bit and then took a trip to the beach. Before that, we stopped by Jamba Juice and got some drinks. I love the way he looks at me. The beach was foggy/hazy, but we took photos anyways. We weren't there long, and decided to goto the park.
Golden Gate Park. There were a lot of people out, enjoying the weather and playing sports, or just hanging out. A photoshoot was also going on. We walked around the park and discovered a few things. A pond for sailing miniature sailboats, huge field for concerts (Radiohead in August). And the eucalyptus trees with their refreshing aroma.
There were also exercise areas with pull-up bars, rings, etc. It was very nice. More photo opportunities.
We held hands as we walked, my fingers intertwining with his. It really felt like they belonged together. We slowly walked, and just talked about whatever came to mind. I thoroughly enjoyed his company, our conversations, our connection. I want to be a better person when I'm around him. I want to be the best I can be. I love the way he makes me feel.
We went back to his car and then drove to a pizza place. We were both a little hungry, but he spotted a Mexican restaurant that he wanted to goto instead. So we got a quesadilla and shared it. Talked more about ourselves, absorbed each others personalities, and kept on smiling. I'm really falling. Hard. We left, and as we walked, our hands just found each others. It was so nice...
Back to the hotel, we freshened up and got ready to goto dinner. We stopped by his place and picked up some things, then headed downtown to Suppenkucke (an awesome German restaurant). We waited for about 45 minutes to be seated, but enjoyed a nice beer together. The restaurant was very crowded with all sorts of people. They were all very friendly and the company was sincere. The ceiling of this restaurant was very unique. Paper cutouts of sparrows were hanging from above, some even attached to the ceiling. The shadows that were casted were very organic, dynamic and visually stimulating/captivating.
We were seated with a few strangers, but that was alright. We were immediately served bread, and we also ordered more beer. A moment later, I ordered a chicken schnitzel with potato wedges, and he got the baby pig. Everything was delish. We chatted and talked about all sorts of things, the city, the people, the atmosphere. Nothing felt out of place or scary. I feel so safe with him. It's like he's all I see, all I want, all I need. It's so wonderful.
After dinner, we walked around the surrounding blocks. The air was crisp, refreshing. We headed back to his place to get some more things. I was exhausted by now, and slept during the car ride. Driving back to the hotel, I slept some more. I think the beer was what did it for me. I changed into pjs and crawled into bed. And passed out.
Sunday: Woke up disappointed in myself! I couldn't believe I had fallen asleep so early. But we still had the entire day ahead of us. We ended up sleeping a bit more though. We had some coffee and then headed to his place. Parked and then headed to the MUNI to catch a ride downtown. Stopped by an atm, and then Borders and grabbed more coffee. I had a caramel latte. It was good.
The ride on the literail wasn't too bad, there were many different types of people on it. We held hands, whispered to each other, smiled, laughed. It was good.
We arrived downtown, a familiar scene to me. His hand slipped into mine and we walked to Union Square. We sat, soaked up the sun, and people watched. The weather was perfect, with the sound of a band playing in the distance. I enjoyed it very much. Then we walked towards China town and a nearby park. Sat on the swings, took more photos, and took in the scenery. So nice.
Then we headed into China town and did some window shopping. "Little old chinese ladies are crazy!"
I shared my thoughts about my culture and the people, different views/perceptions and offered to introduce him to new foods. It will be fun.
Then we decided to head back, but the trolly was very crowded. So we walked the rest of the way back to a little Thai restaurant. He had pad thai, and I had pad kee mao. It was delish. Then we headed to the mall to catch a movie. Iron Man. This movie wasn't showing at that theatre, so we walked down the street to another one. Just in time. The movie was good, the touch of his hand was better. After the movie, we took the MUNI back to his place. We walked and talked. Then just stayed at his place for a bit. Sipped on hot chocolate and talked about where we wanted this relationship to go, how we would work things out, and the next time we'd be able to see each other. I can't wait to go back...
It was time for him to take me to the airport. So we headed out. He walked with me through the terminals and saw me off. We hugged, kissed, and held each other. It was hard to go. But I know it will be even better when I get to see him again.
I went through the security gates, and waited to board. It was goodbye San Francisco. But hello to a new love. <3
I called Vone when I landed and she picked me up and dropped me off at home. I changed and crashed. It was an awesome awesome weekend. I loved every moment of it, and I can't wait to go back. Soon.
